The honeybush plant is easily recognized by its trifoliate leaves, single-flowered inflorescences, and sweetly scented, bright yellow flowers. This plant is part of South Africa’s unique fynbos biome. The bushes grow wild in the Western and Eastern Cape provinces. Fynbos is a vegetation type; characterized mainly by woody plants with small leathery leaves. There are 23 known honeybush species – all belonging to the genus Cyclopia. The name refers to the sweet scented yellow flowers that bloom during spring time. The tea also having a sweet flavour and aroma like that of honey.
